Orilissa

So my doctor heard that this was the new new on the street. And yes, it is for Endometriosis but a girl was desperate.

Orilissa is a prescription medication available in two doses, marketed towards women with Endometriosis. It is meant to reduce three common types of Endometriosis pain: painful periods, pelvic pain in between periods, and pain with sex. Side effects include: hot flashes and/or night sweats, headaches, nausea, difficulty sleeping, absence of period, anxiety, joint pain, depression, and mood changes.

I started taking Orilissa in February of this year and I stopped the first week of May. I stopped because the symptoms were really fucking with me. I’m a water sign, so I’m already moody, and this medication made it worse. I was on the verge of depression before I stopped taking the medication. My partner even realized a big shift with my mood. I felt like a different person. Next, it did not help with pain with sex and I will discuss more in another entry. Lastly, I experienced the hot flashes and night sweats every day. It did help reduce my pain about 10%, but the relief was always short-lived, and I found myself wanting another dose for relief asap. The 10% pain relief is not worth the side effects though.

To be honest, I don’t have much hope with prescribed medications. I’ve been put on so many different birth control medications since I was a teenager, just to help with menstrual cramping, and none of them ever worked. But because it’s your doctor telling you that it will, you trick yourself into really believing them. Don’t let your doctor lead you to your relief. If your doctor doesn’t feel like a partner in crime with you, get a new one. ASAP.
