Hi, I have Adenomyosis.
I was diagnosed by MRI on 1/29/2018. I was 28 years-old. Now, it’s not the worst medical diagnosis in the world, like Cancer, but it does suck. It’s important to understand that it affects everyone differently. What I feel, others may not.
For those new to the game, Adenomyosis is a gynecologic medical condition characterized by the abnormal presence of endometrial tissue (the inner lining of the uterus) within the myometrium (the thick, muscular layer of the uterus). It is similar to Endometriois but don’t get the two confused. They are still very different.
I deal with difuse Adenomyosis. I feel chronic pain every single day. The pain feels like intense menstrual cramps that neverrrrrrr end. The pain varies from 7-10 and usually starts to kick in ten minutes after waking up every morning.
This is my personal journal. This is my safe space. This is where I come to vent and make note of the things that I am doing throughout my journey to treat Adenomyosis.
I hope that my personal journey helps other women with theirs.
