Foria
Ever try suppositories?
I figured this thing has to actually go inside of my vagina; what better way to get close enough to the pain for relief? According to their website, “Foria is a cannabis and hemp brand offering a range of unique products for pleasure enhancement, pain relief, and overall wellness.” My wonderful boyfriend purchased me their Basics CBD Suppositories. According to Foria, their suppositories are supposed to deliver the soothing, tension-melting effects of CBD directly where it's needed. “Compared with CBD edibles and tinctures, these suppositories activate local receptors much faster. Basics Suppositories are formulated for relief during your period, to provide pelvic & lumbar muscular relaxation, and to soothe local inflammation & discomfort. Over-the-counter remedies can affect the entire body — often with unpleasant side-effects. Each suppository contains 100mg of our pristine broad-spectrum CBD-rich hemp extract, carried in 100% organic & fair-trade cocoa butter. The cocoa butter provides a delightful natural chocolate aroma — because everyone loves a little chocolate during their period.”
Because the suppositories are oil-base, they need to remain below 76°F to remain solid. Which is great, because you can stick them in the freezer if they melt. Foria does suggest putting each capsule in the fridge fifteen minute prior to insertion. When ready for insertion, lay on your back in a comfortable position and insert the suppository into the vagina as deeply as possible using a finger or a tampon applicator. Foria suggest utilizing a cushion or pillow under your buttocks to help the CBD oil remain as close as possible to the tissue of the cervix and uterus. The oil should remain inside for 10-20 minutes or longer. After the oil has had time to absorb and you are able to stand up again, although some may still exit your body. If so, a panty liner or tampon will help prevent leakage. According to Foria, this suppository can also be used for Menopause, pre-sex use, and rectal use.
I began using these suppositories on July 19th. The first try, my pain level was at 8 and I sat for 30 minutes with legs elevated and a pillow beneath. Unfortunately, after I did not feel relief. There was a lot of leakage while laying down and after standing, so that could’ve been why. I am not a fan of the chocolate scent, but it is tolerable. I noticed that after 45 minutes, my pain started to lighten up but still remained. After 60 minutes, pain was back and strong. I did try again the next day. This time I used a tampon to help insert further into the cervix/vagina, and I also added an extra pillow to the mix. I wanted to make sure there was no leakage! Still, there was leakage, just not as much as before and I was also still in consistent pain for 1 hour after insertion.
I don’t give up easily, so I am going to finish the entire pack. Especially because it is not cheap, but mainly because I have faith and patience. Foria offers other CBD and even THC products, so I plan to see what else they have to offer.
